This Privacy Policy explains how PrepStatic (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your information when you use our mobile app (the “Service”), a study tool for the UPSC Prelims static syllabus.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address, and your name if provided, when you sign up with email or with Google sign-in.
- Study activity — your reading progress, MCQ attempts and scores, study plan and streak, so we can show and track your progress.
- Purchase records — when you buy access, we store a record of the purchase (product, purchase token and entitlement expiry). Payments are processed by Google Play; we do not receive or store your card or banking details.
- Reminders — daily study reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We do not collect reminder data, and you can turn them off any time in Profile.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service and your guided study plan.
- To save your progress and grant access after a purchase.
- To maintain security and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Service providers
We share data only with the providers that run the Service:
- Supabase — hosts our database and authentication (stores your account and study data).
- Google — Google sign-in (authentication) and Google Play Billing (payments).
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting us; we will remove it except where we must retain limited purchase records for legal or accounting purposes.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us. You can also manage reminders and reading preferences in the app at any time.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections, and database access is restricted with row-level security so each user can only access their own data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
The Service is intended for exam aspirants and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
